Earth Hour To Be Observed On March 23

 

GUWAHATI: The World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature has announced that Earth Hour will be observed across the world on March 23 in the evening from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. 

The Earth Hour has been held annually since 2007 across the world in which people switch off their lights for 60 minutes as a symbol of commitment to the planet.

Last year in 2023, Earth Hour saw the participation of supporters from over 190 countries and territories while over 410,000 hours were given to the planet, WWF India announced in a press release.

The "Give an hour for Earth" initiative by WWF India is further encouraging individuals to switch off lights for 60 minutes and to spend time doing something they love, which will also be beneficial for Earth, while a new online interactive tool called the ‘The Hour Bank’ has been launched.
