DSE Assam Announces Special Recruitment Drive For 4,669 Contractual Teachers

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam, has announced a special recruitment drive for 4,669 Additional (Contractual) Teachers under Secondary Education on Monday, December 2. Eligible candidates can apply online at https://madhyamik.assam.gov.in from 11:30 AM on December 2 until midnight on December 8, 2024.

This recruitment follows the government’s approval and aims to enhance secondary education in the state. Selected candidates will receive a monthly pay ranging from ₹ 14,000 to ₹ 70,000 in Pay Band-2, along with a Grade Pay of ₹ 8,700 and other allowances as per the Assam Services (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.

The announcement of the recruitment was made by Assam's Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, on the social media platform X (Formerly Twitter), saying “Ad for Special Recruitment Drive for 4669 Additional (Contractual) Teacher is out. Apply at https://madhyamik.assam.gov.in from 2nd Dec (11:30 AM) to 8th Dec.”

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Applicants must have completed at least five years of continuous service as Additional (Contractual) Teachers by October 31, 2024.
2. Applications must be submitted through the DSE Assam website using the Siksha Setu ID.

Key Highlights of the recruitment include:

1. Regularised teachers will receive a basic salary along with allowances, but their first increment will be granted only after one year of satisfactory service.
2. The positions are prospective, meaning no pay protection for previous work or Provident Fund (PF) support.
3. State NPS (National Pension Scheme) contributions will be provided, but claims for OPS (Old Pension Scheme) will not be entertained.
4. The recruitment process is exclusively online; no offline submissions will be accepted.
5. The DSE reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment at any time.
