GUWAHATI: A team from Special Task Force (STF) conducted a raid at ISBT Betkuchi under Gorchuk Police Station and apprehended a drug peddler attempting to smuggle contraband.

During the search, conducted following all formalities under the BNSS/NDPS Act, the STF team recovered 19 soap boxes containing heroin weighing 239.5 grams(excluding the weight of the boxes). Along with the contraband, a mobile phone was also seized from the accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Nurul Haque (45), a resident of Jamalpur F.V. in Dholai, Cachar district.
Authorities have confirmed that all necessary legal formalities are underway, and the accused will face charges under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
