GUWAHATI: Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) arrested a notorious drug peddler at Tripura Road, Balughat on Monday, October 28.

The suspect, identified as Mohammad Maznur Hussain (35), was apprehended while riding a motorcycle with registration number AS 01 BM 1897. Hussain, originally from Barkaliajhar Byas Para in Darrang district, was currently residing in Ghoramara, Kamrup (M) district.
During the operation, officers seized 21 vials containing a suspected 29.9 grams of heroin, cash totaling Rs 7,260, and a mobile phone. The confiscated items are believed to be linked to his drug-peddling activities.
STF officers have initiated necessary legal formalities as the investigation proceeds, marking another milestone in Assam’s ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the region.
