GUWAHATI: The draft photo electoral roll for five Legislative Assembly constituencies of the Kamrup (Metro) district has been released.
The five constituencies are - 33- Dispur, 34- Dimaria (Scheduled Castes), 35- New Guwahati, 36- Guwahati Central, and 37-Jalukbari.
New Kamrup (Metro) District Commissioner and District Election Officer Sumit Sattwan informed that the draft photo voter list was published in line with the special short revision of the photo electoral roll, and will be available at the office of the District Election Officer.
People will be able to file claims and objections by January 8, 2024. Claims and objections will be settled between December 16 and January 22.
The final electoral roll will be published on February 8. Citizens will be able to submit their claims and objections to the respective polling stations, concerned Block Level Officer (BLO), or voter registration officers through specific forms.
There are a total of 10,25,471 voters, including 515796 male and 5,09,675 female voters in 1,023 polling stations.
Of these, there are a total of 169,400 voters including 84,976 male and 84,424 female voters in 213 polling stations in the Dispur constituency.
There are a total of 1,89,356 voters including 97758 male and 91598 female voters in 225 polling stations in the Dimoria constituency.
There are a total of 2,33,321 voters including 1,16,333 male and 1,16,988 female voters in 210 polling stations in the Jalukbari constituency.
