GUWAHATI: With fuel prices constantly on the rise for the 18th successive day, a litre of diesel on June 24 is now more expensive than a litre of petrol after the price of the former was hiked by 48 paise.
Petrol price however remained unchanged for the first time since June 7 even as diesel prices maintained its upward trend touching new highs.
In Guwahati petrol price stands at Rs. 83.98 and diesel at Rs. 78.56.

It may be mentioned that the daily price revision of the two fuels had been temporarily halted for 83 days till it was resumed on June 7.
Notably, today's diesel rates are very sensitive to global crude prices. This means diesel price in Guwahati will rise each time global crude prices rise and the rupee falls against the dollar.
