The projects range from the establishment of educational institutes to new roads and anti-erosion measures
GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has approved multiple development projects worth ₹213 crore in various Legislative Assembly constituencies (LACs) across Assam, in its meeting on September 4. The projects aim to enhance road connectivity, counter erosion, and support educational and cultural initiatives.
The following are the key projects:
1. Ronganadi LAC
- Dejoo Kimin Road to NH-15: A 34.728 km stretch connecting Harmutty via Phulbari, Dhekiajuli, and Santipur will be constructed at a cost of ₹27.45 crore.
- Road-Cum-Embankment on Dikrong River: The construction of a road cum embankment on the left bank of Dikrong River from NH-15 at Bahanibari to Sissapathar Bridge (18.400 km) will cost ₹25.75 crore.
- Laluk College (Science Stream): Incorporation of a Science stream at Laluk College.
2. Nowboicha LAC
- Kharkhati Bridge to Sisapathar Bihpuria Link Road: A 30 km road from Pabha Chariali/Sonapur to Sisapathar Bihpuria via Adi Elengi Satra will be developed at ₹44.25 crore.
- To protect areas like Achera Kata, Gowalbari, Baligaon, Dafalakata, and Balibheta from Subansiri river erosion, measures will be implemented for ₹24.99 crore.
3. Lakhimpur LAC
- Auditorium –Cum-Guest House: A new facility in Boginadi will be constructed with an investment of ₹15 crore.
- Moinapara Ataichuk to Gumnadi Pratapgarh Road: A 23.6 km road project connecting NH-15 Boginadi to No. 2 Tariyani Jengrai Garam Bazar Road via Kolaichuk, worth ₹18.74 crore.
4. Dhakuakhana LAC
- Hospital Upgradation: The Sub-Division Hospital in Dhakuakhana will be upgraded to a District Civil Hospital with an investment of ₹11.55 crore.
- Phat Bihu Cultural Complex: A new cultural complex to promote the region’s heritage.
5. Bihpuria LAC
- Sri Sri Madhabdev Jonmo Khetra Development: A development project dedicated to the religious and cultural site, worth ₹30 crore.
- Sri Sri Aniruddha Deb Janmo Khetra Development: Another cultural development project valued at ₹15 crore.
6. Behali LAC
- Model Degree College: A Model Degree College will be established in Bedeti to support higher education in the region.
