Delhiites Show Brotherhood Amidst Riots

GUWAHATI: In the midst of communal riots which have been taking place in a few parts of Delhi over the past three days, Muslim as well as Hindu families have shown brotherhood and solidarity with each other and have offered them protection in their homes.

Muslim families have been providing shelter to Hindus in Mustafabad area.

As per reports, many Muslim families have been providing a safe refuge to Hindus in their homes ever since the riots broke out two days ago.

One such student, Sonia Swami who is a Brahmin, has been staying at Mohommad Arshad Khan's house since she was stranded when violence broke out two days ago in northeast Delhi.

She is a student of Ambedkar University and her classmate Shama asked her to come to her place since it was closest from their college. Similarly, a few other Muslim families in the locality have been offering shelter and protection to Hindus.

On the other hand, as many as 25 Muslim families were taking refuge in the houses of Hindu families in Delhi’s Shyam Vihar area since riots broke out.

They gave protection to Muslim families when there was firing and stone pelting taking place in their locality.
