GUWAHATI: Several exit polls have put their money on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), returning to power in Delhi, but have said the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not go down without a fight.

Voting for all 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi began at 7 AM and concluded at 6 PM, with a voter turnout of 57.70% recorded by 5 PM, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI). North East Delhi saw the highest turnout at 63.83%.

People's Insight exit poll has given an edge to the BJP with 40-44 seats, while the AAP is projected to bag seats between 25-29. The Congress is projected to get a maximum of two seats.

P-Marq has projected 39-49 seats for BJP, 21-31 for AAP, and 0-1 for Congress.

People’s Pulse has predicted a stronger performance for the BJP, giving them 51-60 seats, while AAP is expected to get 10-19 seats, and Congress none.

Poll Diary has suggested that BJP will secure 42-50 seats, AAP 18-25, and Congress 0-2.

Similarly, Chanakya Strategies has estimated 39-44 seats for BJP, 25-28 for AAP, and 2-3 for Congress.

DV Research has placed BJP in the 36-44 range, AAP at 26-34, and Congress at 0.

Meanwhile, JVC's exit poll predicts 39-45 seats for BJP, 22-31 for AAP, and 0-2 for Congress.

Finally, Matriz has estimated BJP getting 35-40 seats, AAP between 32-37, and Congress securing 0-1 seat.

The "Poll of Polls" aggregation of all surveys indicates BJP winning 41 seats, AAP securing 28, and Congress managing just one seat.

In the past two elections, exit polls have struggled to accurately predict AAP's overwhelming victories. For instance, in 2015, exit polls underestimated AAP's strength, predicting around 45 seats when they actually won 67. Similarly, in 2020, they forecasted a strong AAP victory but again missed the mark on the actual seat count.

The AAP is aiming for a third consecutive term, building on its governance record. The BJP is looking to regain power after over 25 years in opposition, while Congress also hopes to make a comeback after failing to secure any seats in the last two elections.
