In a press conference today at the Guwahati Circuit House, the Deputy Commissioner Kamrup (M), Virendra Mittal, made his maiden address to the media and discussed the various issues of the city.
Addressing the media, he said that he has started some measures at the DC office to bring transparency between the office and the public.
Speaking on one of the major issues that plague the city and includes the encroachment of footpaths, Mittal said that he would discuss with matter with GMC about allotting vending zones for the street vendors.
“Rome was not built in a day, and I welcome constructive criticism” said Mittal to the media. ‘While all the issues cannot be resolved in one month, some changes have already started,’ he added.
This was his first formal interaction with the press after he joined as the DC, Kamrup (M).
