GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, the Jalukbari circle excise team of the Kamrup Metropolitan excise department conducted a raid, resulting in the seizure of two vehicles carrying approximately 580 liters of ‘sulai,' a locally made illicit liquor.

Six individuals accompanying the vehicles were arrested, and a case has been registered against them under Section 53(1)(A) of the Assam Excise Act.
In a parallel operation, the Sonapur circle excise team intercepted two other vehicles carrying 26 cartons of spurious liquor intended for sale in Meghalaya.

Two additional persons were apprehended in connection with this seizure.
