COVID-19 Positive Cases in India Cross 9 Lakh Mark

GUWAHATI: Coronavirus positive cases in India have crossed the 9 lakh mark with 9,06,752 positive coronavirus cases across the country. The number has doubled itself at a quicker pace than ever before in just a couple of days.

Of these, 3,11,565 are active cases and 23,727 deaths have been recorded so far, as per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India.

The nation has begun to see its peak as sporadic outbreaks were predicted to happen sometime in the month of July.

The death toll in the national capital stands at 3,411 with the total number of cases at 1,13,740 of which only 19,017 are currently active.

Maharashtra which was the worst affected state, is now showing improvement with the lowest rate of increase among all states although it has 1,05,935 active cases of COVID-19 at present.

Cases continue to rise in the southern state of Tamil Nadu with 48,199 cases presently active and the number of positive cases in Gujarat currently active stands at 10,897 with 2,055 deaths so far.

In the north-eastern state of Assam, the total number of persons affected by the dreaded virus has reached 17,807. The state has 6,348 active coronavirus positive cases with 40 deaths recorded so far, as per the latest State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s latest Twitter update on July 13.
