Coronavirus: Tezpur University Develops Face Shields for Medical Staff

GUWAHATI: In a positive development, Assam’s Tezpur University is developing face shields that can be used by medical staff as a protective device against COVID-19.

The face shields can be worn by medical staff while approaching patients.

A video was shared on the official YouTube page of Tezpur University where Dr. Nayan M Kakoty, Associate Professor of Tezpur University, is seen explaining about the face shields.  

It is to be mentioned that the face shields are developed by faculty members of Tezpur University: Dr. Nayan M Kakoty, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Dr. Durlav Sonowal, Assistant Professor of the same department, Dr. Rosy Sarmah, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Prof. Pabitra Nath, Dept. of Physics with the active support from TU administration and other members of the University. 

Further, the university is planning to provide these face shields to nearby hospitals of Tezpur.
