Coronavirus Outbreak: Sikkim Bans Entry of Foreign Nationals

GUWAHATI: With the ongoing coronavirus outbreak registering 30 positive cases across India, Sikkim has banned the entry of foreigners at the Rangpo check post.

As per reports, all foreigners are being sent back from Rangpo check post where the officials have initiated a strict checking of people for coronavirus.            

Meanwhile, as a precautionary step, all travel and tour operators and hoteliers in Darjeeling have cancelled all the bookings.

Further, the authorities have also issued a blanket ban on issuing permits to popular tourist destination Nathu La paas which borders China.

Meanwhile in Guwahati, the airport authorities at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport have been screening every arriving passenger from domestic and international flights since March 3.
