GUWAHATI: Assam Congress MP, Bhubaneswar Kalita, resigned from Rajya Sabha on August 5.
Earlier today, Congress MPs Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Ambika Soni and Bhubaneswar Kalita had submitted Adjournment Motion notice in Rajya Sabha, over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, on July 30, Sanjay Singh, another Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Assam, had resigned from the Congress and the Upper House to join BJP.

Singh mentioned that he is leaving Congress because leadership is zero in Congress.
However, while trying to contact Congress leaders in Rajiv Bhavan in Guwahati no one was able to give a concrete reason for Kalita's decision on quitting the Upper House.
