Congress Appoints Manoj Chauhan As Co-incharge For Assam

GUWAHATI: The Congress party appoints AICC secretary Manoj Chauhan as the new co-incharge for Assam. Chauhan previously served as co-incharge of Haryana during the recent Assembly elections.

Hailing from Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh, Chauhan was identified a few years ago by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as part of a talent search initiative aimed at cultivating young leaders within the party. 

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge approves the nomination of six candidates for the upcoming by-elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Assam and Madhya Pradesh. Four candidates are nominated from Assam, while two are selected from Madhya Pradesh.

In Assam, the nominated candidates include Dhrubajyoti Purakayastha for the Dholai constituency, Sanjib Warle for the Sidli constituency, Brajenjit Sinha for the Bongaigaon constituency, and Tanzil Hussain for the Samaguri constituency.
