CM Sonowal reviews Assam flood situation

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the prevailing flood situation in Assam via a video conference with all the state DCs and senior officials on July 11.

Sonowal urged all the DCs to stay alert and directed to keep control rooms active in order to serve the flood-affected round the clock.

The CM also directed the DCs to take appropriate measures to provide medical assistance to the flood-affected and also ordered that if in any case there is a scarcity of doctors then the health director should be contacted immediately. 

Sonowal directed concerned departments, district administrations and officials to take immediate steps for ensuring adequate stocks of food, drinking water, medicine and other essential commodities ready for the affected people.

It is to be mentioned that the CM ordered a one-time compensation be granted to those who had lost their lives in the floods.
