CM Sonowal Proposes Wagah-Like Border Ceremony In Karimganj

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that his government will send a proposal to the Centre to hold a Wagah-like retreat ceremony at the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj, Assam.

The retreat will be in memory of the sepoys who had laid down their lives in the first war of Independence in 1857.

Adding to this, Sonowal said that the initiative would attract tourism as well as promote nationalistic sentiments.
