CM Sonowal Holds Audio Conference with University Professors

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonawal organised a conference over phone with professors and academic experts from all government universities of Assam on 3rd May.

The conference was aimed to collect suggestions from the academic experts to help frame guidelines for the educational institutions and for the benefit of the students during this time of crisis.

In the conference that lasted for about half an hour, Sonowal thanked all academicians for their support during the lockdown period and called them ‘sculptors’ (khanikors) who are responsible for shaping the future generations. He asked for their suggestions regarding the educational scenario as well as about other general issues of the state.

Sources informed that professors from many universities along with Gauhati University, Cotton University, Dibrugarh University etc took part in the audio conference.

The working of the universities over online classes was presented along with the various problems faced in this regard. Further, suggestions were given on how to help students with their academics given the global crisis.
