GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal chaired a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Majuli on Friday, February 21, and reviewed implementation of various central as well as state government projects and schemes.
The CM asked officials to ensure completion of all projects within the stipulated time frame.
Sonowal further directed officials of the water resource department to depute an expert team to study the strength and weakness of embankments in Majuli.
Laying emphasis on improving tourism, officials were asked to engage local youths for increasing tourist inflow and develop tourism infrastructure in the island district.
"Majuli has some challenges. I urge all to take them in a positive way and commit towards serving beautiful Majuli and its people," said Sonowal on Friday.
