GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with Union Minister for Jal Shakti, CR Paatil, on Tuesday, March 25, to discuss important water conservation and management initiatives in Assam. The 30-minute meeting took place at Minister Paatil’s official residence in New Delhi.

The meeting focused primarily on the rejuvenation of Silsako Beel, a wetland in Assam, and the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the state. The key agenda included strategising the restoration of Silsako Beel and ensuring the efficient implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission to improve Assam’s water supply infrastructure.
After the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma shared an update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating: "Had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @CRPaatil in New Delhi today. The discussion explored plans for rejuvenating Silsako Beel and key aspects of the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Assam."
