CM launches ‘E-Prastuti’, a move to standardize govt websites

‘E-Prastuti’ – a process of standardisation of government websites was launched on Tuesday by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. This initiative is taken to deliver “information as a service to the citizens” and aimed to standardise state government websites by making it people-friendly.

The websites earlier were not people-friendly, the language being English made it difficult for common men to understand and access. Moreover the information was also not updated on regular basis. Keeping in mind the woes of the public, this move was initiated in June 2015 and a uniform and consistent layout has been developed – E-Prastuti – by which websites of all the departments were standardised. With its launch, the number of websites has now gone up to 203 from 29, representing all 54 departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said, "Launching e-Prastuti is a way towards rendering good governance through digital way transparently to the end users, that is, the public. It is a means to achieve a synergised interface between the government and its public and a tool to take governance closer to the public".  Emphasising his government’s commitment to serve the people, he said there was always a need for a consistent and exhaustive platform for the government to reach out to the people and with the launch of e-Prastuti, the perceived gap between the government and people will now be eliminated and the people would be able to get access to all scheme-related information without any interference.
