In a sensational development, the Rajya Sabha has passed the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill with 125 votes for the bill and 105 against. The bill was voted clause by clause in the house.
This decision comes after around 7 hours of debate in Rajya Sabha on the bill and will be a major setback for the people standing against it.
With mass protests, rallies and agitations taking place all over Assam in the last couple of days, an indefinite curfew has also been imposed in Guwahati.
