GUWAHATI: The BJP- led centre is yet to implement the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the process of formulating the rules has also slowed down.
According to a report in The Assam Tribune, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) started the process of consultation with the stakeholders in the month of January to implement the Act, but the process slowed down after strong protests in different parts of the country.
Post the Citizenship (Amendment) Act was passed by Parliament on December 11, 2020 protest in the entire nation continue to gain momentum.

However, the government and ruling BJP has been defending the act and will be implemented soon, as per reports.
