GUWAHATI: The citizens in Guwahati saw a relatively slower pace of the movement of daily commutes as the transport operators begin their Indefinite strike from Thursday midnight.

The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC), one of the apex bodies of transporters, has called the nationwide ‘Chakka Bandh’ to protest hike in diesel prices, demanding they be reduced.

With minimal govt aided buses plying on the road, it has become difficult for the office-goers to accommodate their daily routine.

It is to be noted that this strike have also disrupted the supply of essentials commodity movement in the Guwahati city.
