GUWAHATI: The PM Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana will be extended till the end of November 2020. This extension will cost over Rs 90 thousand crores, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The PM made this announcement in his 6th address to the nation since the Janata Curfew address in March, at 4 pm today.

Given that the Yojana has been in place since the beginning of the lockdown in March, the entire scheme will cost the government around Rs 1.5 lakh crores.
In the last 3 months, Rs. 31,000 crores have been deposited in the bank accounts of 20 crore poor families. Also, Rs. 18000 crore have been deposited in the bank accounts of more than 9 crore farmers, said the PM.
