GUWAHATI: A One Stop Centre has been inaugurated in Barpeta on January 3 to combat violence against women and rehabilitate them.
One Stop Centres, a sub-scheme under the National Mission for Empowerment of Women of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence.
The One Stop Centre, Barpeta was inaugurated by Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu along with District Commissioner, Barpeta, and other district officials.
Ranoj Pegu took to X to put out, “One Stop Centres, a sub-scheme under National Mission for Empowerment of Women of Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence. Today, I inaugurated the permanent building of the One Stop Centre of Barpeta district in presence of DC, Barpeta and other district officials.”
