Case Filed Against Man For Chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ In Meghalaya Church

 

GUWAHATI: A case has been registered by Meghalaya Police against a man for allegedly trespassing into a church in Mawlynnong village and chanting "Jai Shri Ram". The accused, identified as social media influencer Akash Sagar, reportedly filmed the incident and shared the video online.

Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtynger told the media that a case has been registered at a Police Station against Sagar following a complaint. An investigation is currently underway, and authorities are making efforts to apprehend the culprit.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma condemned the incident, calling it a deliberate attempt to disturb the peace in.
