Cargo Flight for Essential Commodities to Operate Soon in Northeast

GUWAHATI: A cargo flight which will be exclusively used for transporting medical equipment and emergency goods will soon become operational in the northeast, informed executive director of Airport Authority of India, northeast region, Sanjeev Jindal.

He has asked the health department as well as governments of the northeast states to book for any essential or medical commodities that they wish to transport be it water, food supply or any other essential item. 

The directors of the airports of the region have been asked to inform about their requirement through Twitter. Jindal added that contact details that will also be provided soon for the same. 

It is to be mentioned that the initiative to operate cargo flights has been taken by the airports of the region and has been approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Meanwhile, Sanjeev Jindal has also wished to contribute a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs to provide sanitizers and other health items for journalists and other media personnel working during the coronavirus pandemic.
