Guwahatians take out Candlelight Rally to Condemn the J&K Incident

GUWAHATI: Citizens in Guwahati on February 15 took to the streets for a candlelight rally to pay tribute to CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in the deadly Pulwama attack on February 14 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Slogans like "Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Pakistan Murdabad" were echoed in the streets while praying for the families of the martyred soldiers whose lives had been lost in the spine chilling attack and also for a speedy recovery for the injured. 

It is to be mentioned that over 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives after their convoy was attacked by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Among the lost jawans, Maneshwar Basumatary of 98th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from Assam was also killed. Basumatary is survived by his wife and two children.
