Brij Bhushan Singh Sexual Harassment Case: Delhi Court To Pass Order On May 10

GUWAHATI: A Delhi Court has deferred the order on framing of charges against BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Singh in a sexual harassment case filed against him by female wrestlers. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Priyanka Rajpoot of Rouse Avenue Courts said the order will now be pronounced on May 10, citing final changes that needed to be made in the order. The order was initially expected to be announced today.

Last month, the court dismissed Singh's application seeking further investigation in the case, as well as a request to make additional submissions on the framing of charges. Singh had claimed that he was not in India on the date in question.

Singh and co-accused Vinod Tomar, the former assistant secretary of the WFI, are out on bail. The Delhi Police filed a chargesheet last month under Sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), and 506(1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. A separate cancellation report was submitted in the POCSO case against Singh, filed by a minor wrestler.
