Branch office of External Affairs Ministry to be set up in Guwahati

State Minister of Industry and Commerce, Chandra Mohan Patowary informed that a branch office of External Affairs Ministry will be set up in Guwahati.

Speaking at a press conference, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assured Patowary on this and also asked him to look for a suitable piece of land to set up the new office, stated reports.

Assam Government has invited Ministers from the ASEAN region and neighbouring countries to participate in the ‘Advantage Assam’ summit to be held in Guwahati next month. Assam Government has also requested the ASEAN to set up consulates in the city as part of the Act East initiative.
