GUWAHATI: The in-Charge of the Borjhar Police Outpost, has been placed under suspension on charges of misconduct and dereliction of duty.
According to a notification on October 4, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) the officer identified as Shahnaz Yasmin has been suspended for her gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.
Reportedly, Yasmin was allegedly involved in extortion in the area. It is to be mentioned that a video went viral on social media, wherein, the accused was seen extorting money from a truck driver.
"She will draw subsistence allowance as admissible under the rules during the period of suspension. She is closed to Police Reserve, Police Commissionerate, Guwahati, with immediate effect", the notification reads.
