GUWAHATI: With the ICC cricket World Cup happening, cricket fans in the city have been hyped up as India is scheduled to lock horns with Australia at the 3rd T20I on November 28 at the ACA Cricket stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati. However, audiences were left with disappointment while trying to book the tickets on BookMyShow.
Speaking to GPlus, Mrinal Goswami, a cricket enthusiast from Rehabari said, "Although the tickets are live, I am unable to book it either from the BookMyShow in the system."
He further stated that, when he enters the page to book the tickets he is redirected to seat selection, however after doing that, he claims that the booking option doesn't show up.
Tanuj Bhattacharjee, another resident of Paltan Bazar states that he is facing a similar problem while booking it from the app.
It is suspected that the website and the app might have crashed due to a massive traffic.
As of now, the ticket ranging from ₹500 till ₹10,000 went live on Thursday morning at 9 AM and residents have expressed major concern as they aren't able to book the tickets.
After checking the tickets on BookMyShow app, it was found that the tickets priced at ₹500 which were made available for the students, ₹750 and ₹10,000 were all sold out. But many residents have complained some even taking to social media platform X that they weren’t able to book tickets.
Last year in September 2022 when India was playing against South Africa during Master Trophy T20I, similar incident happened when the ticket booking website crashed leaving netizens in a fix while booking the tickets
