GUWAHATI: A bomb threat call was received this morning leading to a thorough security check at the Guwahati Railway Station.

Talking to GPlus, an official from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) confirmed that Shillong Police had alerted Guwahati City Police around 11 AM after receiving a call from a mobile number claiming plans to plant a bomb at Paltan Bazar Railway Station.
Following the alert, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and local police conducted a detailed search of the station using sniffer dogs and bomb detection equipment. However, no explosives or suspicious items were found during the search.
An NFR official said, "We ensured the station was properly checked while maintaining normalcy for passengers."
The caller has been identified, and an investigation is underway to determine the intent behind the threat.
