GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party will release its list of Lok Sabha candidates from Assam on 16th March. This was stated by North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Convenor and senior BJP leader Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma (as per local media reports).
The candidates' list will be announced in New Delhi on 16th March by the BJP Central Election Committee (CEC).
NEDA has set a target of winning 19-20 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats from the Northeast. The BJP after the coalition with Asom Gana Parishad and discussion with its NEDA partners has increased its forecast in Assam to 12 from the earlier 9 seats said Dr. Sarma.
Assam has 14 Lok Sabha constituencies and will witness a three-phase election on 11th, 18th and 23rd March 2019.
