GUWAHATI: Nikita Singhania, accused of abetting the suicide of her husband Atul Subhash, faces strong opposition to her bail plea, with allegations that she is attempting to use their child to evade the judicial process. Akash Jindal, counsel for the deceased techie, criticised the defence's argument in court, stating that Atul had mentioned in his suicide video that his child should not be used as leverage in legal proceedings.

"The bail application was listed today, and her lawyer argued that we are seeking custody of the child behind her back. This is untrue. With Nikita and her family under arrest, there is no one to care for the child. She was apprehended while absconding, and we fear she will flee again with the child if granted bail," Jindal asserted.
Atul Subhash allegedly died by suicide on December 9 after being pressured to pay ₹3 crore for a divorce. A 90-minute video and a 40-page note left behind detailed harassment by his wife and in-laws. Bengaluru Police arrested Nikita, her mother, and brother, charging them under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Nikita's bail plea will be heard on January 4.
