The Walk of Fame organisation announced that the iconic character will be honoured with the 2,790th star on September 26. While it's uncertain if Batman himself will make an appearance for the ceremony, DC's president and chief creative officer, Jim Lee, is confirmed to attend.
"Fans worldwide will be excited to learn that Batman's star will be placed next to those of Adam West, who portrayed Batman on TV, and Bob Kane, the co-creator of Batman," said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Batman first appeared in DC Comics but gained widespread fame through TV adaptations and blockbuster films. Michael Keaton's portrayal in 1989's ‘Batman’ and 1992's ‘Batman Returns’ is often credited with shaping the modern superhero film genre. Other actors, including Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck, have also taken on the role, with Robert Pattinson starring as the Caped Crusader in 2022's ‘The Batman’, which has a sequel in development.
Another iteration of the hero will soon appear in ‘The Brave and the Bold’, part of DC Studios' reimagined cinematic universe.
Of all the actors who have played Batman, Keaton is the only one currently with his own star on the Walk of Fame.
