Basistha River Undergoes Massive Cleanup To Tackle Guwahati Flood Crisis

GUWAHATI: The Basistha River is at the center of a major cleanup drive launched by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) to tackle the city’s recurring flood problems. The initiative aims to restore the river’s natural flow and reduce the growing flood risks across Guwahati.

Heavy machinery, including excavators, has been deployed round the clock to remove sludge, waste, and debris that have been choking the river.

GMC officials have also urged the public to support the effort by keeping the city’s rivers clean and free of pollution.
