Basistha Police finds new home for stranded elderly women

Basistha Police today rescued a sexagenarian suspected to suffer from dementia from Bongaon College Road.

“She seemed lost and shivering in cold when we found her. All that she could remember was her home town Thekeraguri in Morigaon,” Officer in Charge of Basistha Police station, C.N. Bora, said.

On inquiring with the Morigaon counterpart, Basistha police identified destitute lady to be Pramila Saikia. Police reacted to an anonymous call this morning that mentioned that a car dropped her there.

“when we inquired with the locals, they could not say how they found her. On bringing her to the police station and covering her with blankets, all that she could remember was husband’s name, Ramesh Saikia," Bora told G Plus.

The Basistha police admitted her into the Directorate of Social Welfare’s oldage home -- Home for Destitute Women and Helpless Widows at Bamunigaonin Boko.
