Siham was apprehended in Dhanipur, under the jurisdiction of Lala police station in Hailakandi district, and subsequently sent to the district jail. On November 18, he was transferred to SMCH for medical treatment due to health concerns.
Three police personnel had been assigned to guard Siham during his hospital stay. However, he managed to find and exploit a security lapse, escaping from the hospital premises on Wednesday night.
Hailakandi police have launched a manhunt to locate and recapture Siham. Authorities have also initiated an investigation to ascertain how the escape occurred despite the police presence.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Lala police station said, “We are actively looking for him. A manhunt is underway. And further information will be provided once we nab him.”
