GUWAHATI: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s old tweet is currently doing the rounds on Facebook where in he had said that there was no place for Bangladeshi infiltrators who have come to India to further vote bank politics and that they should be sent back.
This tweet was posted by the PM’s Twitter account on 22 February 2014 and had garnered 795 retweets and 422 likes.
It should be noted that this is in dire contrast to PM Modi’s current stance on passing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which will grant Indian citizenship to non-Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan after six years of residence in India instead of 12 years, which is the current norm, even if they do not possess any document.
