GUWAHATI: The Balipara Foundation awards will be conferred on 16 personalities who have put into action innovative solutions for ecological restoration and in a way who are also inspiring others.
Retaining its tradition the foundation will be trying to bring together Communities, Universities, Government, Non-profits, Doners and Media Professionals from around the world to engage in a dialogue to explore business models, policy reforms, technology etc. to identify drivers and innovative ideas for community conservation, This was announced by the foundation members at an event held in the city.
Moreover, the 6th edition of the eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum will be held on November 1 and 2 in Guwahati.
The forum aims to bring about gender equality and embrace the interdependence and connections humans have with the earth.
Dr. Vandan Shiva, Indian scholar, and Inspirational leader Navdanya will deliver the welcome address at the forum on Nov 1. “The empowerment of women and preservation of biodiversity go hand in hand”, they believe.
