ASTC To Introduce App-Based Cab Service With Zero Trip Cancellation Guarantee In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) is preparing to introduce its first-ever app-based cab service, which will soon be available to the people of Guwahati.

The forthcoming app will provide a wide range of facilities to meet the needs of customers, including airport pickups, taxi tours, and sightseeing experiences. Additionally, it will feature a special deluxe tour package called "Guwahati Darshan," offering a comprehensive city tour encompassing popular destinations such as Kamakhya, Kalakshetra, the zoo, and the science museum.

To ensure a seamless and convenient airport transportation experience, customers will have the option to pre-book cabs in advance, guaranteeing a hassle-free ride to their destination.

The app will also prioritise reliability by assuring customers of zero trip cancellations by the drivers. This commitment aims to provide passengers with consistent and trustworthy service. Furthermore, the app will incorporate essential safety features, including a panic button for emergencies and AI chatbot help desks, ensuring a secure and user-friendly experience for all users.

In an interview with G Plus, an ASTC official mentioned that they are currently in the initial phase and are taking necessary precautions before launching the service.

The official highlighted the focus on driver enrolment, which includes thorough observations, verification, police verification, and a 30-hour training program. Only drivers who successfully complete the enrolment process, including the necessary background checks, will be permitted to provide services through the app.

The official further emphasised that the cab services offered through the app would have comparatively lower rates than other cab services in the market. Additionally, drivers will be required to recharge an amount of Rs 15 before starting each trip, ensuring smooth operations and reliable service. If this app works, ASTC plans to expand its offerings by introducing bike services as an alternative option.
