This was revealed by the State Transport Minister Keshab Mahanta on August 30 in response to a question raised by Congress MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed.
The losses have been attributed to various reasons including the hike in prices of parts needed for bus repairs.
The highest amount of losses incurred occurred in the financial year of 2021-22 when ASTC reported a loss of ₹107 crore.
It was further revealed that a total of 646 buses are currently running while 486 ASTC buses are not in operation.
A total of ₹4.4 crore is further spent by the corporation monthly to pay the salaries of over 1800 employees, the minister stated.
