GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) released the schedule for the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2025 on Tuesday, May 6. As per the official programme, the examinations will begin on May 23, and conclude on May 29.

On the opening day, MIL or English (IL) will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM, while Sanskrit (elective) will be conducted in the afternoon session from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. On May 24, Social Science will be conducted in the morning. No exams have been scheduled for the afternoon on that day.
General Mathematics has been scheduled for May 26, in the morning session, followed by English on May 27. On the same day, elective language papers—Arabic, Persian, and Assamese—will be held in the afternoon. On May 28, General Science will take place during the morning session.
The final day of the exam, May 29, will include Advanced Mathematics, Geography, History, Computer Science, and Commerce in the morning. In the afternoon, the Hindi (elective) paper has been scheduled.
Although the morning session will run from 9 AM to 12 PM, while the afternoon session will be held from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, two-hour papers will conclude at 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM respectively. Reporting time is 8:15 AM for morning exams and 12:45 PM for afternoon exams. Candidates will be given 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam to read the question paper.
The notice further stated that for elective languages, common question papers will be used for both Group A and Group B, covering Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, and Santhali. English, General Mathematics, General Science, and Social Science will contain both objective and descriptive sections, and students must qualify in both sections separately.
