GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation disclosed the latest figures on India's per capita income in response to a Lok Sabha Question. Assam's per capita Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) at constant 2011-12 prices for the years 2020-21 to 2022-23 has been unveiled, and the figures indicate a growth of less than 10 per cent.
According to the provided data:
• 2020-21: Assam's per capita NSDP stood at ₹61,304.
• 2021-22: The figure witnessed a marginal increase, reaching ₹65,726.
• 2022-23: Continuing the trend, Assam's per capita NSDP further rose to ₹69,826.
According to Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, the per capita Net National Income (NNI) for the last three years, including the current year, is as follows:
• 2021-22 (1st RE): ₹1,48,524 (Current) / ₹92,583 (Constant 2011-12)
• 2022-23 (PE): ₹1,72,276 (Current) / ₹98,374 (Constant 2011-12)
• 2023-24 (FAE): ₹1,85,854 (Current) / ₹1,04,550 (Constant 2011-12)
The data also highlights the top five states with the highest per capita income during the period of 2019-20 to 2021-22. They are Goa, Sikkim, Delhi, Chandigarh and Telangana (2021-22)/Haryana (2019-20 and 2020-21).
