Assam: Wedding Party Turns Fatal, 4 Killed in Road Mishap

GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident, four persons died on the spot after vehicle (Tata Magic) lost control and crashed into a truck in Digboi on November 24.

According to reports, around 18 people were who where tavelling in the vehicle for a marriage party rammed into a coal-taken truck.

Four persons died on the spot while fourteen people sustained serious injuries and was later admitted to a nearby hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Jairam Shah, Urmila Devi Sramah, Jaleswar Giri and Bishu Das.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has offered deep condolences to the bereaved family and ordered financial assistance to all the persons who sustained injuries.

The registration number of the truck is AS-01-JC-2935 while the Tata Magic bore the registration number AS-23-CC-3431.

Earlier on Novmber 20, eight persons died on the spot after vehicle lost control and crashed into a goods truck in Orang near Gelabil in Assam.

The passengers were returning from a wedding party when their car collided with a stationary truck.
