Assam: Two Minor Girls Rescued by Railway Police

GUWAHATI: Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) rescued two minor girls on 16th November 2020 at about 9 AM.


RPF personnel noticed two minor girls in distress condition near the entrance gate of Rangiya Railway Station. On enquiry it was found that both the girls, aged about 11 years, hailed from Tamulpur. 


They had left their residents without the knowledge of their parents.


Both the minor girls were later brought to the RPF post at Rangiya and handed over to Child Line, Kamrup after observing necessary formalities. 


It may be mentioned that, from 2017 to October 2019, a total of 39 such cases were detected by RPF. 105 children have been rescued so far and 56 traffickers arrested.
