Assam: Two Apprehended With Suspected Heroin In Cachar

 

GUWAHATI: A haul of suspected heroin was seized, and an individual was apprehended in connection by the police in Cachar on Saturday.

The operation, which took place on October 14 was led by the Inspector in Charge (IC) of Rangirkhari Police Station, who apprehended Kamal Uddin, a resident of Asimganj, situated in the jurisdiction of Nalugaon Police Station in Patharkandi, Karimganj.

Additionally, during the operation, officers discovered and confiscated a total of seven soapboxes, containing a substance believed to be heroin. The combined weight of the seized narcotics was approximately 80.19 grams.

Assam Police took to X to put out,” IC Rangirkhari apprehended Kamal Uddin of Asimganj, Nalugaon PS- Patharkandi Karimganj near New Sonai Road & recovered 7 soap boxes (80.19g) containing suspected heroin from his possession. Investigation is on.”

The suspect is now in police custody, and an ongoing investigation is underway to determine the full extent of his alleged involvement in drug-related activities.
